Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treat ~ one of my favourite holidays, another reason to decorate the front yard with a grave yard, jack-o-lanterns and welcome little devils, witches and goblins to the door. The toddlers still are the cutest!

Our feature cupcake in the test kitchen for October ~ Pumpkin Ginger with a cream cheese frosting ~ I was surprised by the moist cake and light flavour, like a piece of pumpkin pie ~ my new favourite frosting is the the cream cheese.

Looking for whimsical treats for Halloween ~ I came across this cute mummy cookie ~ so we dusted off the gingerbread man cookie cutter, whipped up some royal icing and Mummified for Halloween!

Sweet treats offered at the bakery this season ~ ideal for the classroom bake sale or sharing with friends.

Cupcake Tower

Photography is a new challenge as we create our edible delights then try to capture each one to share on our blog and website. We will continue to experiement with this as well.

A summer pool party birthday for a seven year old featured our classic vanilla cupcakes with chocolate truffle frosting. The birthday hat is a frosted candy that was a big hit. Enjoy!

Whimsical Bakery Online!

Wow, who would have thought we would have a blog at the Whimsical Bakery. After launching our virtural bakery website in August 2008 we started to get orders from all over North America. We would like to share our stories as we develop the bakery and build our business. We invite you to read along with us .....

We start the year off in the test kitchen with three birthday cakes for my girlfriends ~ Each to be just as unique as the other ~ We did well as each still feels theirs was the highlight.
